- remarks
- There are scratches and dents on the case, bezel, and bracelet other than the glass. The dial and hands have been replaced, but the crown is original. The manufacturer performed a complete service in June 2024. There is also an archive, which shows that this watch was sold in 1975. This is a popular model from Audemars Piguet designed by Gerald Genda, and is the first model of the Royal Oak. The 39mm size was very large at the time, and there were pros and cons, but it is a size that feels natural in modern times, with a two-piece case, Cal:2121 based on the Jaeger-LeCoultre Cal.920, and the case is only 8mm thick, which is very thin and fits well on the wrist. This first serial A series is the rarest of the 5402ST, with 1,937 pieces produced.
